This addition increased the size of the school to

80 ft. by 94 ft. 

Built as a four room school designed by architect Frederick Raeder in a simplified Romanesque Revival style


School is significant as the site of the first public kindergarten in the United States. First year enrollment at the school included 42 students in the kindergarten class
