St. Louis, MO 63111

Saturday June 8, 11:00 a.m.

  • Esley Hamilton, "A History of Landscape Architecture in St. Louis." St. Louisans have grown increasingly aware of our city’s architectural heritage through the efforts of preservation organizations like Landmarks Association of St. Louis and through the preservation activities of local groups, like the Carondelet           Historical Society. But many of us are less familiar with the history of landscape architecture in our region. Esley will discuss how the designs of private gardens, public parks, and city neighborhoods fit into the broader context of landscape architecture history in St. Louis, highlighting some of the nationally famous landscape architects who have designed both public spaces and private gardens in St. Louis.
