The History Museum

Remember Cleveland High School by viewing memorabilia like uniforms, yearbooks, and photos, while embracing historic school pride.

Site designed by Locality Studio

Our organization is dedicated to perpetuating the heritage of our unique community: Carondelet, Missouri, formerly an independent village, town and city and now a neighborhood of St. Louis.

Our building and museum is the site of Susan Blow's Des Peres School, founded in 1873 as the first publicly funded Kindergarten in the United States. It is also home of the Bouchein Library, one of the finest historical libraries and archives in the region.

Be sure to visit our "Events" page to view a calendar of upcoming presentations, meetings and open houses.

The Carondelet Historical Society is 100% supported by volunteers, generous donations, and membership dues. If you are interested in becoming a member, please click the "Membership Form" link above, print and fill out the form, and mail it to us with dues.

We are also always looking for volunteers; if you are interested in volunteer opportunities, please call or email us.
