Fred Bouchein Research Library

The first public kindergarten in the United States. First year enrollment at the school included 42 students. The room has been refurbished to its exact history.

The museum includes a Heritage Room featuring furnishings from the 19th to early 20th centuries, a "Street of Stores" featuring toys, tools, and consumer goods, and many more smaller exhibits.

The library contains records of the village of Carondelet, microfilm records of US Censuses, books on St. Louis and Missouri history, early maps, and much more.
